Ingredients Hake Cakes 1 pound Hake 1/2 cup dried bread crumbs 1/2 cup milk 2 1/2 cups mashed potatoes 2 tbsp. melted butter 1/2 tsp. white pepper 1/4 cup vegetable oil, for sauteing 2 tbsp. chopped fresh parsley, for garnish
Directions Prepare mashed potatoes according to package directions. Simmer the Hake for 15 minutes and remove to cool. Mix the breadcrumbs and milk in a small bowl and let soak. When the fish is cool flake the flesh into a large bowl. Add the bread crumb mixture, the potatoes, butter, white pepper, and hot pepper sauce. Mix until well combined. Form the mixture into 2 1/2-inch cakes. Saute the Hake cakes in batches until They are golden on both sides, about 2 minutes per side. Transfer the cakes as they cook to a warmed platter and cover loosely with foil to keep warm. Serve the Hake cakes hot, garnished with the parsley.
