Ingredients Ingredients Herring fillets Marinade 2 medium-size onions, sliced into rings 1 carrot, sliced 1 bay leaf 6 peppercorns 1 garlic clove 1 parsley sprig 1/2 cup [125 ml] wine vinegar 1/2 cup [125 ml] white wine 1/2 cup [125 ml] water 1/2 teaspoon [2.5 ml] salt Sour cream to fill jars
Directions Boil all marinade ingredients for 10 minutes. Fillet herring fillets; arrange into a deep, oven-safe dish. Pour in boiling marinade. Bake in a preheated medium [375°F / 190°C] oven for 10 minutes. Cool Mix with sour cream and fill jars Refrigerate or freeze
